Sep 18-21: Firstie and 2nd Class Parents’ Weekend

Dear Class of 2009 Firstie and Class of 2010 2C Midshipman Parents,

You have been invited to participate in 1C & 2C Parents’ Weekend beginning Thursday evening September 18 through Sunday September 21, 2008.  This will be the first time this Parents’ Weekend tradition will be shared both 1C and 2C Midshipmen and parents.  There are many special events planned for that weekend include a formal parade, ship’s visit, YP static display, Silent Drill Team and Pipes & Drums performances, and an opportunity to attend classes with your Midshipman on Friday (if your Mid has classes on Friday).  In addition there are several sports teams with games during this weekend, as well as a home football game against the Scarlett Knights of Rutgers and there are a number of religious services throughout the weekend as well.  The parent packets for this special occasion are in the process of being mailed out from the Commandant’s Office.  If you have not received yours, you will be able to obtain a packet in Dahlgren Hall when you register.  Hope to see all of you 1C & 2C on the Yard in September.
