Welcome Plebe Parents

ImageDear Class of 2012 Plebe Parents,

On behalf of our Central Florida Parents Club, “CONGRATULATIONS” and a hearty “Welcome Aboard!”  Our Plebe Parent Survival Guide a.k.a. as the Plebe Parent Handbook is intended to be a useful tool and hope that you find it to be so, over the next four years; but most especially this upcoming one.
This is a very exciting time for your family and the beginning of a new life for your son or daughter.  The well documented “Roller Coaster” ride that you all are about to embark on holds many challenges, yet even more rewards.  It is a ride meant to be shared not only within your own family but with your new extended USNA Parents’ Club one.

Designed for Incoming USNA Families

This handbook is updated annually and is in its twelfth publication this year.  It is given to you our new families as a source guide to answer questions, provide some Academy knowledge, helpful information about the Annapolis area, and contact information of our membership.  Our Club also publishes newsletters periodically called Central Florida Links that includes articles and pictures of our Central Florida Midshipmen, families, club activities and even happenings on “The Yard”.

Be "In the Know"

There will be updates from time to time to include accommodations, news releases, schedule of activities, contact information, sporting event tickets to finding a house for that most important week of your family’s four years at USNA, Commissioning Week.
This handbook is our gift to you as an incoming USNA family.  However, if you wish to receive all of the benefits we have to offer; invitations to functions, newsletters, announcements and a new family then you need to become a member of our club. With your membership not only do you help our club to grow and prosper; but you gain a caring support network for you and your Midshipman.

We're Here to Support You

ImageFor you, this support is our most important mission.  For many of you, this will be your first experience of Service Academy/Military life and it is very different.  Your child is not only going to receive a first class education, but he/she is being groomed to be a military officer.  For some it will be a nine year commitment for others it will be their lifetime career.  Having a network of others, close at home, to share your frustrations and excitement, help you to cope, to ask those questions and receive the answers from those who truly understand will help you and your family glide through this roller coaster ride is what we are here for.

We look forward to adopting you and your entire family into our USNA Central Florida Parents’ Club one.  In the meantime, sit back, pull that seatbelt snug and low, lower the bar, hold on this ride is about to leave the platform.

With sincerest warmth,
Vickie & Jim DiGiovanni, Co-Presidents
Parents’ Club of Central Florida
